Found at the Buckle, Seaford Bay. Bronze cannons. In my opinion they are from a French ship that threw them overboard for a quick get away when Lord Pelham came down and chased them away.
Other iron cannon in the area are probably from the Harlequin which wrecked 1809 and was carrying 18 guns.
In the mid 90s it was said there was the occasional piece of wood to be seen and even now there is musket shot.
Wessex archaeology have surveyed the site and found nothing other than the iron cannon. After extensive research no other ship was found to have wrecked in the area that fits the time frame for the bronze cannon.
