I often attribute the iron cannons near the Buckle in Seaford to The Harlequin, which is a simplification. In reality, they are more likely from the February, a ship that wrecked further west. It's convenient to refer to the Harlequin as it was the primary wreck, but it's uncertain which fragments of timber and wreckage belong to which vessel.
Names of the Sailors
Possibly diving the February! Pics nothing to do with the wrecks! |
Wrecked 1811 so i did wonder if the bell was from one of the Harlequins wrecks. I don't know of anything else going up Seaford beach at that time!? |
